Google is releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow in November and there are promising features that the new OS can offer. The features include App permissions, Now on Top, Fingerprint support, App links, Doze, and Automatic backup and restore. These are considered as the major things that can be experienced through the new Android OS.

Google highlighted six major features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow which are listed in NDTV Gadgets. The first one is Apps permission in which users will encounter a question if an app is trying to access camera or microphone on the device like, "Would you want to allow this?" This capability avoids unauthorized downloads of apps on the device.

In addition, related report noted that App links or Intents is also one of the features that the new OS can bring. This capability works if a user clicks on the link from the text message or email. The link then will ask on what app user would like to open with it.

NDTV Gadgets also mentioned that Android 6.0 will come with Now on Top. It will serve like a smart assistant where it can be displayed on the screen, no matter what a user is doing. If a loved-one sent a text message to eat in a Chinese restaurant, the recipient can long press the home button and Now On Top will automatically recognize the text based on Chinese restaurant. Then, useful information will pop up on the screen such as names of Chinese restaurants and its location.

Another is Fingerprint scanner as noted in Latino Post. This capability increases privacy and security for users. As such, Fingerprint scanner can lock devices and secure subscribers of Android Pay. Together with the aforementioned features is Automatic back-up and restore, according to the related report. It enables Google Drive storage to keep files for up to 25MB per app. This is good news for users not to worry in retrieving data after resetting their devices.

Lastly, Latino Post noted that Android 6.0 also highlights Doze technology. It enables the phone to go to deep sleep mode after prolonged inactivity to be able to save battery. It also checks updates from apps while still on phone calls, messages, and the like.

These are the highlights of the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow which will be sent through an OTA once the new OS becomes available for public use.
