Despite the intense rivalry between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, their daughters Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton have decided not to let politics get in the way of their friendship. For these two, their BFF status will remain undamaged even if their parents are political foes.
"I'm really grateful Ivanka's my friend. She's a great woman. Friendship is always more important than politics," Chelsea tells People. "I learned that growing up, watching my parents be friends with people across the political spectrum in Arkansas." She has also told Vogue in February, "She's always aware of everyone around her and ensuring that everyone is enjoying the moment. There's nothing skin-deep about Ivanka. Surely Chelsea is aware that Donald Trump recently called her mother "the worst secretary of state in the history of the U.S." and Ivanka knows that Hillary sees her father as "candidate of being against people." To the surprise of the public, these daughters have chosen to stay out of the clash.
Long before their parents got involved in this political war, Trump and Clinton were friends too, according to The Telegraph. Donald Trump used to be a big supporter of the Clinton Foundation while Hillary Clinton got invited to his wedding in 2005. Now that they are competing for the highest office in the United, Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton, who both live in Manhattan, are reported to go on double dates with their respective husbands.
Furthermore, their friendship is no secret either. According to People, the daughters are reported to often message or mention each other on both Facebook or Twitter. In June, Ivanka is said to have tweeted one Chelsea's quotes, adding the hashtag #wisewords.
It is such a relief to see that Chelsea Clinton, 35 and Ivanka Trump, 33 are confident that their friendship will always remain solid despite the dirty political spectacle that their parents throw at each other.
