Leona Lewis has taken to a dating app to promote her latest album "I Am." The "X Factor" winner recently decided to place a special deal on Grindr that allows the app users to buy her album at a special discounted price.

In a report from Metro, after her lead single "Fire Under My Feet" failed to reach the top 50, Leona Lewis decided to come up with a crafty promotional tactic to help promote and bring in the sales of her new album and latest hits. The 30-year-old British singer took to Grindr, a gay dating app, to release a special promotion. The special offer allows app users to purchase her album for only $3.99.

Apparently, the "X Factor" winner opened up in an interview on how she would never strip down to skimpy outfits as a last minute resort to gain headlines. The singer also discussed how she's uncomfortable in certain sexy clothes and underwear, saying revealing outfits just isn't her thing.

According to E Online, the release of her album came shortly after Leona opened up on her spilt from Simon Cowell's record label, Syco. Despite leaving the big recording company, Leona Lewis discussed how there is no "bad blood" between her and the famous music producer and talent scout.

"There's no bad blood at all he sent me a really lovely note the other week saying they miss me at the label. There's nothing but love there. He knew I had to leave. He was upset about it but it was time for something new so I'm excited about moving on and doing something different."

Leona then went on to sign a deal with record company Islands Records which is also the home of other famous singers such as Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Florence + The Machine.

In a report from Independent, now that the British singer and songwriter is using Grindr to promote her new album, she's hoping that the special promotion will be a big hit. Apparently, other artists such as Nicki Minaj and Madonna have used Grindr in the past to sell concert tickets and run competitions.

After leaving her previous record label, the 30-year-old singer now has more independence in producing more of her own original songs. Though it has not yet not been confirmed whether her promotional tactic is hitting off; with the special offer available on the app, it's likely that the "X Factor" winner will become popular with Grindr users.
