The tension continuously increases as the "The Strain" approaches its season 2 finale. The new episode titled, "Dead End" will see Setrakian face an old friend as he searches for the Occido Lumen while the others still look for Dutch.
In "The Strain" season 2 episode 11, Setrakian, played by David Bradley, continues his mission to look for the Occido Lumen, the book which he believes can stop the Master. The professor finds out that the book is in the hands of his old acquaintance, Fonescu, which was revealed in the promo for the episode via the Christian Post. Setrakian tells his friend that he is the fate of the world is on his hand since he is in possession of the book. But the question is, can he convince Fonescu to help him use the book against the Master?
Elsewhere, Fet, Nora, and Eph search the city for Dutch, played by Ruta Gedmintas, who will find herself fighting to survive against Richard Sammel's Eichhorts according to The Futon Critic.
"Dead End" follows the previous episode that saw Ephraim go after Palmer, which was a bad idea as it only led him and Dutch to be held captive. Despite the show having a steady fan base, the new episodes are getting uninteresting because of the lack of substantial scenes.
According to Den of the Geek, the last episode of the FX series titled, "The Assassin," felt so stretched and even included character conversations that "have no real bearing on events" and did not contribute to persona development. The site also wrote that the sophomore season's "glacial pace of storytelling has taken over from the previous focus on things that made no sense or didn't fit that characterised the last."
Nevertheless, FX has given "The Strain" season 3 a go signal.
The upcoming episode of "The Strain" season 2 titled, "Dead End" will see a confrontation between Setrakian and his old friend Fonescu, who has the Occido Lumen on his hand. Can the professor succeed on using it against the Master? Find out when episode 11 airs September 20 on FX.
