After his successful "Taken" movie series, Liam Neeson is once again hired not in another Taken movie but to be "The Revenger". Universal Pictures has claimed the franchise of the future movie to be starred by the award-winning, veteran actor, Liam Neeson.

Deadline has reported that synopsis of the movie has not been revealed. But, it was confirmed that Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) will be helming the movie together with Thomas Lennon and Robert Garant as the scriptwriters. Not to mention that Fleischer, David Bernad, Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark will be the producers.

According to the Empire Online, the movie will not only be pure action but, it has a mix of comedy. Now, Neeson has had been in action films but it seemed like he is ready to take a step to the limelight of an action-comedy film, if it will possibly happen. However, he has shown the willingness to be funny before. So, he could possibly be successful with it too.

"The Revenger" has not started filming this year yet. But, fans can anticipate that the movie will start its production sometime early next year. Cinemablend stated that it might as well be scheduled for a release in a summer on 2017 since it will be placed in proximity of the barge of superhero movies.

Neeson was recently featured in "Taken 3" and Warner Bros.' "Run All Night" and can next be anticipated in Martin Scorsese's "Silence" and Focus' "A Monster Calls." In his "Taken" movie trilogy, he plays the role of Bryan Mills, a retired CIA, who crosses the globe to save his kidnapped daughter to be sold in sexual slavery.

After he killed Marko, the leader of the human traffickers who kidnapped his daughter, Murad, the mob's boss, will seek for him to avenge his son's death. In the last sequel, he will chase after the serial killers who set him up to the murder of his wife.

Unlike the "Taken", his future movie "The Revenger" might unlikely have the same genre which was rumored to have an amass of comedy. But it will remain uncertain until the studio talks about it. What do you think?
