Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Release Update on Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile & AT&T

Roughly six months when Samsung last updated the Galaxy Note 3's operating system with Android 5.0, device owners are now calling the attention of both Samsung and mobile carriers for the long overdue Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. Community forums on Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T are now bombarded with questions of which Android version is Samsung releasing and when it would be out.

Despite rumors that Samsung will be releasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version to Galaxy Note 3, some owners under Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint do not relent with the possibility of the release, not until the update will officially roll out to the device.

In Samsung's support page, the South Korean tech giant revealed that most Galaxy Note 3 units across the globe still run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device was last updated on August 12 with a Stagefright fix. However, US Cellular is the only mobile carrier in the United States to pull off an over-the-air update for Galaxy Note 3 among all other networks here.

It was previously reported that Samsung will most likely be releasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop before the Marshmallow update debuts on select phones later this month. There is no final word nevertheless straight from the company.

Samsung and particular mobile carriers have already released the latest and final Android Lollipop update to both flagship and mid-range smartphones, including the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Grand Prime, Galaxy Mega 2, Galaxy J1, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Core Prime, among others.

Meanwhile, new reports have surfaced that the Galaxy Note 3 might as well be skipping the 5.1.1 version of Lollipop and jump off to the much-anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Nothing has been made official as of now.

Whenever prompted for the Android 5.1.1 upgrade, follow onscreen instructions. Make sure device is connected to a Wi-Fi and storage has enough memory space. The update shall come via over-the-air (OTA) release.

To manually check for updates, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for updates. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will bring in new features and improvements in user interface, more notification options, device sharing and synching, and security patches.

In another news, there have been many custom ROMs made available for Galaxy Note 3 owners developed by Resurrection Remix, EuphoriaOS, Pacman and CyanogenMod 12.1, among others.
