Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Release Update on Verizon, Sprint, AT&T & US Cellular

With T-Mobile paved the way for Samsung Galaxy S5's release of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, other big carriers in the United States are now reportedly preparing to roll out the latest Lollipop software version to its devices. Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and US Cellular are said on the verge of Android 5.1.1 preparation.

Prompted by Samsung Galaxy S5 owners on community forums, Samsung and partner mobile carriers are reportedly releasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version. Some owners under Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and US Cellular do not relent with the possibility of the release, not until the update will officially roll out to the device.

In Samsung's support page, the South Korean tech giant revealed that most Galaxy S5 units across the globe still run on the 5.0 version of Android Lollipop.

It was previously reported that Samsung will most likely be releasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to the device before the Marshmallow update debuts on select phones later this month. There is no final word nevertheless straight from the company.

Samsung and particular mobile carriers have already released the latest and final Android Lollipop update to some flagship and mid-range smartphones, including the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Grand Prime, Galaxy Mega 2, Galaxy J1, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Core Prime, among others.

Meanwhile, new reports have surfaced that the Galaxy S5 might as well be skipping the 5.1.1 version of Lollipop and jump off to the much-anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Nothing has been made official as of now.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will bring in new features and improvements in user interface, more notification options, device sharing and synching, and security patches.
