The "Ghostbusters" reboot has officially finished filming, as announced by director Paul Feig. Also, actor Ernie Hudson is confirmed to join the cast.
According to IGN, the reboot has wrapped filming last Saturday. Feig also thanked original star Ernie Hudson for joining the cast. The director announced via Twitter, "Thanks to the great @Ernie_Hudson for joining us on our last day of production. He is a class act and an incredibly talented and funny man."
Adding to the hype, the 69-year-old American actor, Hudson, tweeted a picture of himself with the new "Ghostbusters" cast and describing it as "one of the most fun days of my career."
Eric Hudson, known for playing Winston Zeddemore in the original film, has joined the cast to film a cameo in the upcoming "Ghostbusters" reboot after Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd signed on.
According to Cinema Blend, however, it is yet to be clear what exact roles both Murray and Akroyd will be playing. Nevertheless, all of the three original casts (including Hudson) are expected to play new characters in the film.
It was The Hollywood Reporter that broke the news about Hudson's involvement, although Sony did not comment on whether the actor will be making a repeat of his role or not.
Meanwhile, rumor has it that Annie Potts, who originally played the receptionist in the original franchise, was also seen on the set of the movie. Potts is believed to play a hotel clerk, but there has yet to be an official word on that role as of this writing.
The new film will feature Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones as four new characters in the rebooted film-verse. The reboot will hit theaters July 15, 2016.
Now that Ernie Hudson is confirmed to join the cast and that "Ghostbuster" reboot has officially finished filming, as confirmed by director Feig himself, fans can certainly hope for the film to be a "buster" in the box office.
