David Beckham recently slammed the rumors claiming that he could be the next James Bond. The footballer even finds the speculations hilarious, saying he is "definitely" not planning to portray the 007 agent.
The soccer player puts the reports aside after fans on social media heated up rumors about him possibly taking over the 007 agent's role. "I saw that the other day and I laughed many times about it," Beckham mentioned in ABC News on Thursday. He added, "Definitely won't be in the next James Bond."
As a matter of fact, Beckham claimed that he hasn't even considered making the shift from being a soccer star into a movie star. Beckham stated, "I've never, ever thought about going into any kind of acting. He went on by saying that people recently put his name into the spotlight and his new career in acting. But he emphasized that it is not really his new career as an actor. It's just sort of an entertainment for him and he's just enjoying himself in the meantime.
According to Ace Showbiz, it was his fans' effort that kicked off Beckham's name to be considered to be next in line for the James Bond role, as Daniel Craig's is nearly approaching its expiration date. But this wasn't the first time Beckham and his camp slammed the James Bond acting career reports. Just last week, the athlete's representative immediately claimed that Beckham "was not planning to step into the action heroes shoes any time soon, despite recently expressing his interest in acting."
Victoria Beckham's husband is also putting a lot efforts on his own fashion line, which he runs in partnership with his wife. He called their working relationship "pretty easy." He mentioned, "We've been together for 18 years, we've been married for 16 years so you trust each other's judgement."
And as parents, the pair told People that they worked hard to protect their kids from the harm fame could give, especially about social media. "It's hard because our 16-year-old son, Brooklyn, he's got like 4 million Instagram followers," Beckham stated. He continued by saying, "We control everything that he posts, everything that he does, and it's the same with our other kids."
For now, although Beckham already stepped out to put his acting career rumors into trash, many of his fans still gush about how perfect the soccer player could be for the agent 007's role. Still, they are consistent about putting Beckham's name in the Hollywood's spotlight and are still hoping that Beckham would change his mind.
