LG Preparing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Roll Out to Mobile Carriers; G Flex 2 and G Vista Might Receive the Update First

Aside from future smartphone and tablet releases, LG G Flex 2 and G Vista are slated to receive first the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software among LG's lineup of smartphones and tablets. While Marshmallow debuts later this month as previously announced by Google, LG has been reported on the verge of preparation to roll out the update to carriers.

LG G Flex 2 and G Vista both unlocked version and under mobile carriers are expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow as they are the first LG devices to get the final Android Lollipop software version. G Flex 2 under AT&T and Sprint and G Vista under Verizon Wireless have just been updated to Android 5.1.1 early September. The US Cellular version of G Flex 2 is still stuck with Android 5.1 while G Vista under AT&T still runs on Android 5.0.2.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to debut in upcoming smartphones and tablets, including the rumored LG G4 Pro, HTC One A9, Sony Xperia M5, LG-Google Nexus 5X (Nexus 5 2015) and Huawei-Google Nexus 6P (Nexus 6 2015).

As per developer preview reveals, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring features like battery management, better apps permission, improved app drawer, enhanced status bar, custom Chrome tabs, and app links, among many others.

A battery saver called Doze is the new addition to Android expected to manage wisely battery usage of a device. Doze automatically turns on whenever necessary. It will terminate apps running in the background and idle ones whenever unintentionally opened.

The app drawer now has a search bar to easily locate apps, games, files, etc. stored in the phone and launch them. The scroll bar is also back on the drawer.

App links will enable users to be redirected to a link's site by just clicking it. Custom Chrome tabs will track site visits. It also has more options for color, themes, fonts, and more.

Android 6.0 will also supports for fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C, and security patches.
