The fifth season of "Once Upon A Time" will be coming back this Sunday and fans of the ABC series will see Emma Swan as The Dark Swan for the first time. It has also been reported that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual (LGBT) relationships will be explored in the show.
According to Inquisitr, in the "Once Upon A Time" season 4 finale, Rumpelstiltskin finally removed himself from the dagger as Belle wanted to save him from dying. With the help of Hook, The Apprentice was freed from the sorcerer's hat and he was able to remove Rumple's name from the dagger.
However, the darkness of the dagger has to find a new host and it was originally Regina who should have been consumed by it but Emma sacrificed herself in order for the former evil queen to finally have her happy ending.
In a report by International Business Times, the premiere episode for "Once Upon A Time" Season 5 is entitled "The Dark Swan" and that it will be showing Emma with Rumpelstiltskin. He will be mentoring Swan but she will not yet be dressed in her dark gear. She will be dressed as a peasant and will slowly transform. The first episode will also show King Arthur and his knights and Merida from "Brave." These new characters will be helping her to get to Camelot in order to find Merlin.
Adam Horowitz, the co-showrunner of "Once Upon A Time" revealed that Swan being the Dark One is a very smart person who do things for a reason and not just be this uncontrollable dark character.
Edward Kitsis, the other co-showrunner, also revealed that the show will be exploring LGBT relationships. Specifically, Mulan, played by actress Jamie Chung, will be coming back and the person she has fallen in love with will be revealed, Bustle shared.
"Once Upon A Time" season 5 will be about Emma Swan developing into the Dark One and her family and friends in a quest to have her back. The series will also be exploring LGBT relationships. The show will be returning to ABC on September 27.
