Quentin Tarantino's latest film, The Hateful Eight, is close to hitting theaters soon and the director revealed his thoughts about his upcoming film. The film's first screening featured a 3-hour feature that elicited strong response from viewers.
In an interview with Vulture, Tarantino revealed that they are now close to finishing the movie and are exerting a lot of efforts to finish the feature. Aside from that, Tarantino also revealed that although the film was set in a post-Civil War Wyoming, he's not trying to make the film contemporary.
"I'm not trying to make Hateful Eight contemporary in any way, shape, or form. I'm just trying to tell my story. It gets to be a little too much when you try to do that, when you try to make a hippie Western or try to make a counterculture Western.", Tarantino said. Moreover, he also stated that he's excited about white supremacy finally being addressed and dealt with as it is what the movie is about.
Aside from the trailer which was released mid last month, Inquisitr reported that a poster of the seventh character in the Hateful Eight was also revealed. The poster features Michael Madsen who plays as the cowpuncher, Joe Gage.
The previous posters of the film revealed the characters of Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue, Bruce Dern as General Sandy Smithers, Tim Roth as Oswald Mobray, Kurt Russell as John Roth, Chris Mannix as Walton Goggins, and Bob as Demian Bachir while Samuel Jackson's Marquis Warren is yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, What Culture also recently reported that a three-hour screening of the upcoming film was held, and elicited a strong response from the crowd. The report also further revealed that both Samuel Jackson and Jennifer Jason Leigh hold the biggest roles. However, the response of the crowd in its official release in theaters would be the biggest determinant of the film's success as the 3-hour feature is reportedly likely to be cut to reduce running time.
The Hateful Eight is Tarantino's eight film and will center on 8 strangers who seek shelter during a blizzard and eventually get involved in a plot of betrayal and deception. It is set to hit theaters this Christmas in selected theaters.
