GoPro's CEO Denies Apple Partnership; Confirms Declining Market Shares

By

GoPro Chief Executive Officer and founder, Nick Woodman, confirms that his company is growing its network. He also refutes market shares and tie ups with tech companies, including Apple, to bring services to consumers.

GoPro is rumored to partner with Apple, but this speculation has already been denied. There is also no truth to the assumption that the Cupertino tech giant will introduce a rival action camera. According to Forbes, Nick Woodman affirmed to this thought and said "I don't think Apple is building GoPro-like devices" in a tech conference in San Francisco.

The iPhone maker allegedly purchased related patent recently, which sparked rumors from all over the Internet. However, Apple's patent fillings do not necessarily mean that it intends to make an action camera.

Furthermore, GoPro's stock price down 55% in the past 12 months, that is why new gadgets and software might be included to the future plans of the company. Hopefully, these help reverse the sentiment that GoPro is just a one-hit wonder.

Nevertheless, GoPro insisted that they are more than a maker of action cameras for outdoors and extreme conditions. It is rather a "lifestyle media company." For the past 11 months, the San Mateo, California-based company has already launched five cameras, push into software, third-party applications and products, as well as more than 60 complementary mounts and accessories. These are considered a milestone for GoPro.

The central problem for GoPro is video editing. Through the years, GoPro users have expressed their disappointment with the fact that it takes hours to edit footage into significant content that can be shared with their family and friends. Hence, the company addresses the problem and promises its users that they will take an action regarding the matter.

On the whole, GoPro has been vocal to deny its rumored partnership with the tech giant, Apple. It has also confirmed that their market shares have not been good in the past years. Thus, there are a lot more to expect from the company in the coming days.
