'The Expendables 4' may feature Hulk Hogan as the latest villain in the action-adventure franchise. He expressed his interest in getting involved with the sequel and admitted that he had been talking to Sylvester Stallone, who he's been good friends with for years, about the part.
According to Screen Rant, the iconic wrestling superstar hinted that he would likely take on the role of primary villain for the fourth installment of the franchise. He said, "Was talking on the phone with Sly [Stallone] about doing The Expendables 4. We're trying to figure out a way to maybe turn me into the most evil man in the world. Y'know, Stallone gave me my first break and he's been a great friend for all these years ... We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities. Can I still run, can I still jump? Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out."
He added that he and Stallone had a good working relationship in the past having starred in Rocky III together back in 1982. Should Hogan be offered the coveted role, he would be joining the antagonistic ranks of Mel Gibson and Jean-Claude Van Damme who both played villain in past films. It is also possible that he will serve as a supporting villain to a yet bigger role.
Another report from MNR Daily suggested that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may also appear as one of the bad guys for 'Expendables 4'. The professional wrestler-turned-actor also expressed his desire to join the all-star ensemble for future films. He admitted that he didn't necessarily want to be part of the fictional team of elite mercenaries but would rather "hunt every single one of them".
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who plays Trench Mauser, reportedly asked Stallone to continue working on a possible fourth film saying that it will always be a good idea to push on for more sequels, according to The Daily Mail.
He said, "Because I think it's a great idea to have an ensemble piece with that many action heroes in a movie." The series is said to be one of the most star-studded films in action history flocked with the likes of established stars like Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Randy Couture.
'The Expendables 4' is a planned action-adventure follow-up to its predecessor that debuted last 2014. The ensemble films were originally created by David Callaham and it pays homage to '80s and '90s blockbuster action films as well as the stars of those decades. All past three films earned a collective $790 million in the box office and are considered mainstream successes despite mixed reviews from critics.
