Sports icon Michael Schumacher is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One race drivers of all time. He continues his battle for recovery years after an unfortunate skiing accident in the French Alps that left him seriously injured. Supporters react to growing speculations on his health condition since official news has been limited as of late. Communities have also been raised to help give emotional support for Shumacher's family and friends.
According to The Telegraph, Schumacher's website www.michael-schumacher.com has been relaunched so fans and supporters can post words of encouragement for their sports hero. His agent Sabine Kehm said in a previous announcement that progress has been made regarding the F1 champion's road to recovery. She added, "We ask that the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculations about the state of his health are avoided."
Schumacher and his wife Corinna marked their 20th wedding anniversary last August 5, according to the Mirror. The 46-year old succumbed to a coma following the skiing incident that occurred during his descent on Combe de Saulire below the Dent de Burgin above Méribel in the French Alps.
It was reported that Corinna and their two children Gina-Marie and Mick were determined to keep the family's privacy especially after Schumacher was lifted from his coma and continued his recuperation. They were prompted to keep their guard up even more after an incident involving a journalist dressed as a priest tried to gain access into Schumacher's hospital room not long after his accident at the Alpine resort.
Several online communities such as a Facebook Page called 'Stop speculations about Michael Schumacher's health condition' have been created to help spread awareness against multiple rumors surrounding his circumstances. One post highlighted the need to trust Kehm's updates instead of other purported insider statements while another poured out generous encouragement and positivity for Schumacher's supporters.
Kehm also remains vigilant in rebuffing unofficial reports being made. She continues to reiterate that although Schumacher's process of rehabilitation seems slow, the progress made is appropriate to the severity of his injuries.
