Gigi Hadid seemed to not care what Internet bullies have to say about her body. She even posted a lengthy message on Instagram on Monday defending her curvy figure.
Gigi Hadid just recently took on her body critics. The model responded to body shamers who told her that she's too curvy for the runway. Taking to her Instagram page, Hadid posted a pretty long note slamming the Internet bullies who were calling her fat and that she doesn't fit in the fashion industry. She admitted that she doesn't have the typical body of most runway models, but she claimed that she loves that she's different. She loves that she has boons, abs, butt, and thighs. And she claimed that her hourglass shape doesn't stop her from fitting into sample sizes of designer clothing lines.
Hadid claimed that she's faced a lot of body shaming lately when she was walking the runway in the Fashion Month. At first she tried ignore it, stating, "I'm human, and I'm not going to lie, I did let the negativity get to me a little." She added, "No, I don't have the same body type as the other models in the shows. No, I don't think I'm the best at any given show. Yes, I want to have a unique walk, but I also know I have to improve. No, I'm not the first or the last model of my type in this industry."
The 20-year old beauty told Dailymail Australia earlier this year that when she started her training as a volleyball player, modeling agencies and the fashion industry, weren't accepting her athletic, curvy shape. She was even often told that she needed to lose some weight in order to be in shows. She claimed that she has huge thighs and she eats a lot, but she loves that she loves herself the way she is.
Her Instagram speech continues by saying that critics mean comments don't change her thoughts about her body, she loves her hourglass figure. These harsh comments don't stop her from booking shows from different designers.
The top model also has a piece of advice for all of the people who think that she only stole the spotlight because of a reality TV, as mentioned in Elle UK. The curvy model directly stated, "You can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but really, I'm a hard worker that's confident in myself, one that came at a time where the fashion industry was ready for a change. I'm just doing my job."
After she blasted off her long comment, her Instagram followers were very supportive of her. Many commented that she keeps on inspiring a lot of women with her body type. And many of people online are commending her guts after standing up for herself and connected to different people, especially young women globally who battle the same judgements as she is.
