For the longest time, Half-Life 3 has been a rumor, word-of-mouth, speculation and even a myth to some fans. Up to this day, Valve's title has not shown any rays of light, and when the responsible heads are asked of it, the answer cannot be anymore vague.
As reported by Movie Pilot, there were a few Easter eggs all over the gaming world that depicts the deceased series of Half-Life. With the particular title being drifted away by the developers themselves, Half-Life 3 apparently looks drastically impossible.
Delivered by Geek, after a recent interview at the EGX 2015 event in the United Kingdom, fans were given a shifty 50-50 answer to perhaps a trick question disguised to squeeze out information from Valve. Chet Faliszek, a video game writer and employee under Valve, was noted to have been asked the said query: Is Half-Life 3 going to be a virtual reality game?
According to Segment Next, Faliszek plainly went on and said "No". After which, the same question was asked, and humorously, he received it and answered, "I said no." With this, fans are caught by the guts into thinking that perhaps if Faliszek answered a question pertaining to the status of the game, will it indeed mean that Half-Life 3 exists, even if not in the form that was inquired; or was it also another uncertain backfired answer that will cause sleepless nights to the fans?
Surely enough, Half-Life 3 is not yet confirmed by Valve, not even on the list of things to do for the company. One theory is that Valve may not see the continuity of the Half-Life franchise to be as financially beneficial to them as the other sources of revenue, such as the other series' continuity like Counter-Strike and even the Left 4 Dead franchise. Fans, however, have stayed strong and still hope that the game will come out in time, or at least close to the idea of it.
