Actor Danny Pintauro received positive feedbacks as he talks about being diagnosed as HIV Positive. The TV star spontaneously talked about his diagnosis in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The actor came out in 1997 about his sexuality after the National Enquirer threatened to reveal it themselves at that time. He recently revealed that he was HIV positive for 12 years now during his appearance on Oprah's "Where Are They Now".
His co-star on "Who's the Boss" Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano reacted to the news he revealed. According to him, Danza has been like his other father and his initial reaction to the news was a disappointment as reported by Entertainment News Online. However, in spite of Danza's obvious disappointment, his reaction was followed by questions towards Pintauro reassuring that he was okay. Milano reacted by sending Pintauro a very sweet and supportive message.
Another co-star that showed support was his mother on the show, Judith Light. He has told her years ago already, and has been telling anyone who asks. Although this is the first time he has announced it on TV. According to On Top Magazine, Pintauro first contracted the virus in 2003 due to the use of crystal meth. Danza admired Pintauro for sharing his story to the public, trying to make the world a better place by reaching out to the people.
The episode aired last September 26 and it has moved a lot of Pintauro's followers and fans. Report by International Business Times stated that Danza was not happy about the news but he believes Pintauro is an incredible man and that he has always been that kid who was trying to make the world a better place.
The actor is speaking out to the public to warn everyone in the LGBT community that in every action they do, there is a consequence. Those moments of pleasure in exchange of being HIV positive are just not worth it. "I want my community to wake up, and start taking care of each other" was what he said.
