The release date for Universal's "Pitch Perfect 3" has been pushed back by two weeks. And since every good a cappella movie needs a good a cappella villain, fans have been wondering whether or not the militaristic German group Das Sound Machine will return to the third installment.
According to Unreality TV, Universal Pictures announced that "Pitch Perfect 3" will now hit theaters on August 4, 2017. This means that the film has been postponed by two weeks from its original release date, which is July 21, 2017. The studio believes that the forthcoming film will not be able to perform its full potential, as the original release date looks overcrowded.
Deadline, on the other hand, reported that "Pitch Perfect 3" will be taking over the said date that was supposedly meant for Legendary's "Pacific Rim 2." The latter was reportedly delayed, so as to allow its filmmakers enough time to work on the project; it gave way for the a cappella movie to take the slot.
As for the film's villain, the Das Sound Machine, it still remains a question of whether the group will be part of the threequel or not. Referencing to Perez Hilton, Bustle reported that the villain group's Pieter Kramer, played by YouTube personality Flula Borg, revealed about how desires to be back in "Pitch Perfect 3."
"I hope very hard that Das Sound Machine shall return to Pitch Perfect 3." When asked what he wanted to do in the third film, Borg jokingly said that he would love to show up at the very end riding "around in a Jeep wearing only socks."
As of this writing, little has been unveiled about the upcoming film's plot details. However, it's safe to say that the Barden Bellas will likely to face their biggest foes yet.
Returning cast members include Hailee Steinfield, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, along with screenwriter Kay Cannon. The film is produced by Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment and Max Handleman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions.
Though the highly anticipated premiere of "Pitch Perfect 3" has been postponed, many fans are relieved that only two weeks were added in their waiting time.
