Franchise icon Vin Diesel reportedly addressed the issues regarding "Fast and Furious 8" director. The actor also revealed that the franchise will conclude after three more installments.
According to /Film, the main issue was with star and producer Vin Diesel, whom Universal should consult before any decisions are to be made. However, Diesel attempted to clear the issue revolving the upcoming film's director for the sake of the fans.The 48-year-old actor took to his Facebook page to tell the truth that "Fast and Furious 8" has yet to be offered to anyone. Nevertheless, Diesel revealed that he and producing partner Neal Moritz are in the process of finding the right person for the job.
Screen Rant reported that with Diesel's Facebook post, it should also confirm the second installment of a new trilogy, which is meant to end the franchise. There were speculations that the eighth and ninth entries would be filmed back-to-back to serve as a multi-part finale event.
The publication also added that the revelation of the "Fast and Furious 8" director will be done via the actor's Facebook page. This indicates that a decision will be made soon regarding that aspect of the film.
Meanwhile, Cinema Blend reported that the actor Vin Diesel had also released a statement to his Facebook page indicating that the "Fast and Furious" franchise will indeed end after one more trilogy:
"Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision. They have been a family." He went on to add, "I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga."
Taking into accounts all of the reports, it somehow concludes that "Fast and Furious 8," which is set to be released on April 14, 2017, will be the beginning of a trilogy that will end the franchise. There will also be "Fast & Furious 8 & 9" with the tenth installment apparently being the final "Fast & Furious" movie ever.
Now that Vin Diesel had addressed the issues about "Fast and Furious 8" director, it seems that fans have to ready their seat belts as the franchise will once again hit the road. Information about the follow-up films are scarce for now, but many are already excited for the final trilogy.
