'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 Updates: Patti Lupone returns as a series regular; Billie Piper to reprise her role as Lily Frankenstein

Patti Lupone is officially a series regular as she returns in 'Penny Dreadful' Season 3. Billie Piper also reprises her character as Lily Frankenstein, an Irish immigrant. On the side note, showrunner John Logan spills a few details about the newest season in his recent interview.

Patti Lupone will be returning to 'Penny Dreadful' as a series regular, as IGN reports. Lupone first appeared in the series as an abortionist who helped Vannesa Ives (Eva Green) with her troubled situation. In the 3rd season, Lupone will be portraying the role of Doctor Seward, an American therapist.

On the other hand Daily Mail mentions that, actress Billie Piper will reprise her role as Lily Frankenstein. Lily is an Irish immigrant who is trying to escape her tragic past. On the side note, Piper was seen wearing a Victorian-Goth inspired costume for the show's production in Dublin.

Other than that the showrunner of 'Penny Dreadful', John Logan teases a few details about the 3rd season with Entertainment Weekly. Logan stated, "Next season, some of them are alone, and they don't have their friends to turn on to- they don't have that support." He added, "And how they're going to function out there in the world without each other is interesting. What will be the event that will draw them back together."

An actress comes back in 'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 as a series regular. Moreover, an actress is confirmed to reprise her role in the newest season. Other than that, the showrunner reveals some details about what is going to happen next with the characters in the 3rd season.

As of now, there is still no official release date for 'Penny Dreadful' Season 3. However, it is expected that the American-British horror drama series will return in the early part of 2016.
