Nintendo marks a new milestone with the upcoming release of Pokemon GO as the first Pokemon title ever to be launched outside of Wii U and 3DS consoles. It has been confirmed to be a free app available for iOS and Android devices by year 2016 and will be holding a closed beta by end of this year.
This new Pokemon Go game is developed under the belt of The Pokemon Company and Niantic, a former Google startup which made a name for itself with the augmented-reality game Ingress. While 2016 is not that far to get excited about the free mobile app, here are the top 5 facts and things to expect that could fuel up the hype.
Catch Pokemon in Real World
PC Advisor quoted Niantic founder John Hanke who spoke about Pokemon Go and how it will work for the Pokemon fans. What will make this new title unique is it will allow players to catch Pokemon in real world.
He explained saying, "For the first time, Pokémon will roam free in the real world. Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world. Imagine discovering a Squirtle hiding along the waterfront in San Francisco, a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station or a Pikachu beneath the Eiffel Tower."
Free Download on Google Play Store and App Store
Best things in life are free and one of it is the all-new Pokemon GO which will arrive on Android and iOS as a free game app. Fans can download the game on the Google Play Store and App Store upon release. However, it is alos noted that the game will have in-app purchases.
Pokemon Go Plus
Gamers can also purchase the Pokemon GO Plus, a companion wrist device which is anticipated to add a distinct advantage and more fun for Pokemon players. The wrist wear will connect to the smatphones via Bluetooth and send notifications about game events like a Pokemon is nearby. It will allow gamers to snag a Pokemon without using the mobile phones.
2016 Release Window
While there's no solid release date announced yet for Pokemon GO, the game is confirmed by NIntendo to be out by early 2016. The announcement of the Pokemon title for mobile devices came out as a surprise to the gaming community, although, according to Geek Snack, it has been under development for two years now.
In-App Purchases
As mentioned, Pokemon Go is a free to download app, however, it will be supported by in-app purchases. Despite that no additional details were revealed on this, Silicon Angle reports that the best guess would be the pokéballs which will be used to capture Pokémon. It is hinted in the trailer that gamers will have limited supply of Pokeballs.
In addition, Pokemon Go Closed Beta will be held before the end of this year, hence, it would only take around a couple of months more for fans to get a taste of the game and how it feels like right at their fingertips.
Pokemon GO is among the host of new Nintendo mobile games coming to Android and iOS handsets and is expected to be out early 2016.
