‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’: Latest And Final Trailer Released; How Big Can The Movie Get?

By

The "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is set to be shown in theaters on November 20, 2015. With the latest trailer released, it may probably be the final one. And with momentum picking up for Lionsgate, fans and moviegoers are wondering how big the movie can become in terms of ticket sales.

Io9 reports that the latest trailer of "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" can send shivers down your spine just by listening to it. Generally, Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence leads the people of Panem to wage war against the Capitol and target President Snow himself. Snow is played by Donald Sutherland. But little do they know that Snow is already prepared for their invasion. Katniss and her friends will encounter challenges that will go far beyond what they have faced in the previous Hunger Games. The only difference is that everyone else has a part in the revolution to overthrow Snow.

Comic Book breaks down the final trailer a little bit more for "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2." Katniss Everdeen, Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) team up for their biggest mission ever. They set out to free the citizens of Panem and then infiltrate the Capitol to assassinate President Snow. But before they can even get there, they come across traps and treacherous enemies. But more than what they have to face during their battles, they also have to make moral choices that will affect the future of citizens who rely on their success.

Forbes looks beyond the trailer of "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" and zeroes in on how the final sequel will be in terms of ticket sales. If the movie will earn just $350 million including domestic sales, it can possibly become the second franchise in history to rake in $350 million-plus entries, which is at par with Star Wars. There is a possibility that it can be the first ever modern trilogy to earn $400 million-plus gross domestic sequels. If it can take advantage of the 3D sales outside the US, it might be able to exceed "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire's" $864.9 million global sales. If this happens, it will be the fifth film to achieve the $1 billion universal mark for the year 2015.

Scheduled to hit movie houses on November 20, 2015, the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is expected to gain more momentum with the release of the latest and final trailer. With a bit of luck, the film will exceed, if not exceed, its predecessors in terms of ticket sales.
