LG G2 has not been included in the list of recipients of Android 6.0 Marshmallow's official over-the-air (OTA) update revealed by a mobile carrier last October 5. However, sources said this does not automatically mean that the update will not come to the device as the list is subject to changes.
T-Mobile revealed last week a track list of smartphones and tablets confirmed to receive the OTA roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The carrier's list means the update might as well be coming to the device included since T-Mobile made it possible. LG G2 however was not included in the list which for some, the update is elusive to the device.
According to analysis reports, this news should not determine the exclusivity of the update towards the enlisted devices like LG G4, G3, Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy S6 Edge+, HTC One M9 and One M8, among others. Apparently, sources said that newer and flagship smartphones are only privileged to get the update first before the older and mid-range handsets.
In T-Mobile's support page for software updates, the carrier affirmed this analysis saying not all devices are listed on its page for future software updates. This means that T-Mobile is looking forward for more devices to experience the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
Meanwhile, some G2 owners have been furious about news that their device will not be seeing a glimpse of the biggest software upgrade in Android history. Other mobile carriers like Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Bell and US Cellular are expected to release their versions of track list as well.
Devices included in T-Mobile's track list all come from Samsung, LG, Google and HTC, as follows:
1. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
2. Samsung Galaxy Note 4
3. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
4. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
5. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
6. Samsung Galaxy S6
7. Samsung Galaxy S5
8. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
9. Google Nexus 9
10. Google Nexus 7 (2013)
11. Google Nexus 6
12. Google Nexus 5 (2013)
13. HTC One M9
14. HTC One M8
15. LG G4
16. LG G3
17. LG G Stylo
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in new features and improvements like improved Google Now, better Android Pay, support for fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C and Android Pay, App Permissions, battery-saver called Doze, and a few others.
