Selena Gomez has recently announced that she has been diagnosed with Lupus. The pop singer also expressed that she underwent chemotherapy and other medication for the treatment. In spite of the said disease that attacked Selena Gomez, she stressed that she does not want people to feel sorry for her because of the said diagnosis.

Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that results when the body's immune system attacks its own organs and tissues to an extent. Lupus causes inflammation to the affected areas and its signs and symptoms last more than six weeks if not treated and taken cared of can last for several years, CBS News shared. Selena Gomez now has a strict diet, is religiously sticking to her medication and healthy routine to recover aside from the chemotherapy she is going through.

Selena Gomez also exclaimed that she locked herself away and waited until she was confident and comfortable again to face everyone.
