On a social media account, Director Guillermo Del Toro (Crimson Peak) reported that the "Pacific Rim 2" movie will happen anytime soon. He also talked about his interest in casting Maisie Williams in his future sequel movie project.
On Sunday, Del Toro posted an update on his official Twitter account answering the questions of the fans regarding the controversial project. With all the queries popping out on his social media, he replied with a tweet. "To answer all tweets re: PAC RIM 2: Budget ready. Awaiting script from John Spaihts. Then is up to the studios to give it a green light," he wrote.
Moreover, the renowned director revealed on an interview with Den of Geek that if the movie happens, fans will get to see Maisie Williams, best known as Arya of HBO's Game of Thrones TV Series, in the "Pacific Rim 2" movie. According to him, the plot will be more interesting with "a lot of strange complexities". The movie will possibly feature back Dr. Newton Geiszler (Charlie Day), Dr. Herman Gottlieb (Burn Gorman), Herc Hansen (Max Martini) and Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam).
While reports say the production of the movie is bound to be cancelled, Comic Book indicated that Del Toro cleared out the budget and script issues. He assured the fans the movie will step forward.
Although he was uncertain of the progress of the movie before, he was optimistic that the sequel film will progress. Sources say the movie will somehow be pushed back from the original schedule of August 2017. "Pacific Rim" earned a total of $411 million worldwide upon its release on 2013.
In addition to his interest in casting Maisie Williams, the movie director revealed that they have planned a perfect role for her. Moreover, he indicated that he wants to preserve everything about her including her accent in her role in the "Pacific Rim 2" movie.
