AT&T is issuing Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version in its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge users. The update will not just provide a new version, but it can also enhance the performance of both phones as revealed by those who have received it. For those who have not updated their own phones yet, they can wait for an over-the-air message or manually go to the settings of the phone and check for software update.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge came out with Android 4.4 KitKat in 2014, Tech Times noted. There is no update report yet if it is capable of fighting the Stagefright bug virus. Nevertheless, it is said that Android 5.1.1 can enhance phone performance like Samsung Pay. More so, the new update can bring better battery life, smoother and tweaked Material Design UI.
As part of the new update, the phones need to have enough memory of up to 700 MB and up to 60 percent battery. It is also recommended that the phone should be in a stable Wi-Fi connection to successfully download and install the OTA update, IB Times reported. In the event that the phone did not receive the OTA, users can go to Settings, then About Phone, click on Software Updates, and tap on Check for Updates to be able to manually download the new version. As of the moment, AT&T does not have any updates on other phones which will receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, Android Central reported.
Meanwhile, since the new software version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow became available for public use, there is no report yet if AT&T will issue such OS in its high-end devices. On the other hand, AT&T users can experience their enhanced Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge through the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
