Benedict Cumberbatch Has Low Expectations For James Bond Role

The search for the next Bond continues. While names of different actors are in place for bets to take the iconic role of James Bond, Benedict Cumberbatch does not expect too much on making the casting.

Benedict Cumberbatch is currently known for his 2014 movie The Imitation Game, and the long running series of Sherlock where he plays the notable role of Sherlock Holmes. He's also in the list of the prospects eyed to play 007.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the British actor remarked how the role would be 'fun' but he believes the producers will not want to cast him unless they go for a different style for the next Bond.

"I can wear a suit and I can fight. I can raise my eyebrow, but that's not what it takes to play Bond." Cumberbatch said, according to BBC News.

While the role of Bond may not be for Cumberbatch, he will return to the big screen in a 2015 American crime film 'Black Mass'. He is casted alongside actor Johnny Depp and it will be directed by Scott Cooper.

Cumberbatch does not close his doors for taking on the role of James Bond as it is a great opportunity for any actor. He can only reply to this speculation with, "Who knows?"

And while there is yet to be a new official cast, actor Daniel Craig remains to carry the name of the famous fictional British spy James Bond. If the actor is ready to take up on a future Bond film, he told Time Out London that he hasn't given any thought to it and he just wants to move on.

Craig is bound to return to theatres on November 6 in his new movie, 'Spectre'. And this is his advice for the next Bond, "You've got to push yourself as far as you can. It's worth it, it's James Bond.'
