As HTC has already confirmed One M9 and One M8 getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, One M8 EYE now is imminent for the biggest Android update in history as well. New reports pointed out Marshmallow may come to this device as the year 2016 opens.
HTC One M8 EYE is expected to receive the most sought-after Android 6.0 Marshmallow software as the tech titan already revealed the update that the update is coming to flagship smartphones One M9 and One M8. The Marshmallow update is slated rolling out to One M8 EYE by January 2016.
Neurogadget has reported possible devices to receive the Android 6.0 which included the One M8 EYE. Accordingly, the upgrade will be rolled out shortly after One M9 and One M8's. The flagship devices were confirmed since August it will be getting Marshmallow by December.
The tech brand should be now active preparing the update for both the flagship and midrange devices. When available, Marshmallow will come with new key features brought by Google, plus a laundry list of improvements to existing system and apps.
Last August, HTC executive Mo Versi first revealed the company's roadmap for Android 6.0. While leaving One M8 EYE unconfirmed, this device is near to reality based on specs with 2 GB of RAM and 2.3 GHz processor chip, enough to support the Android 6.0 upgrade.
While the sales performance of HTC has been deemed struggling even without stating the fact, the company is recognized for giving lucid information on its Android updates.
HTC operates on a 90-day cycle for software upgrades. It also releases updates after two years from a device's discharge depending on mobile networks and/or location.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is projected to roll out as well to HTC devices including One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One E8, One ME, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816. The tech giant is launching the One A9 smartphone on October 20 with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in new key features like battery saver Doze and enhancements in Google Now, Apps Permissions, and app drawer, among others.
