HTC One ME devices are expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software following a confirmation that it is rolling out to its banner handset devices One M9 and One M8. According to some reports, One ME might be treated alongside other HTC smartphones come January 2016.
HTC has already planned out the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to One M9 and One M8 and this prompted news the same upgrade will also hit One ME devices. Despite unconfirmed reports about One ME, new word in the tech department today has played out that the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is also on the verge of preparation for its release to this device. HTC has no official statement about the exact launch date of Marshmallow for the device but January is a pinch-hitter.
As reported before that One ME smartphone units will begin getting Marshmallow alongside its new features and enhancements after it starts hitting flagship phones One M9 and One M8 devices by December as confirmed by the company since last month.
Mo Versi, HTC Senior Vice President for Product Management, first revealed on Twitter last August the truth about Android 6.0 Marshmallow and its devices. Despite being unconfirmed, One ME will certainly qualify for the upgrade based on its specs as it has 3 GB of RAM and 2.2 GHz processor chip, adequate to rally the Android 6.0 upgrade.
While the sales performance of HTC has been deemed struggling even without stating the fact, the company is recognized for giving lucid information on its Android updates.
HTC operates on a 90-day cycle for software upgrades. It also releases updates after two years from a device's discharge depending on mobile networks and/or location.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software also is expected to roll out to other HTC devices like One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One E8, One M8 Eye, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816. The tech giant teased last week that it is launching the One A9 smartphone on October 20 with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in new key features like Doze and improvements in Google Now, Apps Permissions, app drawer and so many more.
