A little over a month ago, iOS9 was released to the Apple community of mobile device users. Today, over a month after, some people are still squinting at their screens.
Eight years of iOS updates and upgrades can potentially lead to adjustment issues. Often, whenever Apple releases a new version of iOS, users of their mobile devices are forced to adapt to the learning curve.
Here are a few tips that will make your iOS9 experience more favorable:
1. Extend Battery Lifetime
Head over to Settings > Battery and find a toggle called Low Power Mode. This feature is ideal for when you are running low on power and need to save up your juice until you get to a power outlet or power bank.
2. Make Lists and Scribbles on Notes
TechRadar comments that Apple has beefed up it's Notes app in a big way. By clicking a grey plus sign, users get access to new features such as the ability to create check lists (that you can actually check!) and scribble notes with. On top of that, a feature to insert photos has also been added.
3. Split Screens
If you have an iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2 or iPad Pro, you can gain access to a split-screen capacity. This can be done by swiping from the right side of the tablet screen and choose from a side bar another app to open. You can drag the split screen to until 50-50 if you want the screens to be equal in size.
4. Wifi Assist
Quality Wifi connections matter big time today. No one wants to waste time connecting to a slow connection. iOS9 can detect whether a connection will not provide reliable speed, and switch you back to cellular. This can be a headache though for people with data caps, so you might want to turn it off by going to Settings > Cellular > Wifi Assist if you don't want it.
5. Phone Number Lookup
iOS 9 gives your iPhone the ability to pull data from your Mail app to suggest who might be calling when it's not registered in your contacts list. The same is true with remembering outgoing calls that you didn't register.
6. Wallet in Your Phone
Get quicker access to your finances through your phone. Apple Passbook has been renamed to iPhone Wallet, and can be accessed even when your phone is locked. You can switch this on and off in Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, and toggle Wallet under Allow access when locked.
