iPhone 7 September 2016 Launch Predicted; Will the New iPhone ditch Qualcomm for Intel-based Chipsets?

By

The much-awaited iPhone 7 is predicted to do a September 2016 launch and, quite surprisingly, is opting to use Intel's chipset instead of Qualcomm's. Despite these speculations, however, the iPhone 7 promises a lot of innovation to iPhone users plus further importance is placed on aesthetics as evidenced by older iterations of the handset.

Going back to Intel being Apple iPhone 7 replacement to Qualcomm, Ewan Spence of Forbes reports that Intel has already a team of one thousand staff working on the integration of its 7360 LTE modem chip for the new Apple mobile unit. He added that Qualcomm is quite aware of its new competition and that they have to do better this time in order to be retained by Apple.

Spence further hinted that both Intel and Qualcomm might be employed in creating chipsets for Apple iPhone 7. However, Intel is not yet assured by Apple CEO Tim Cook if they will end up being chosen over Qualcomm, Spence later said.

Digging deeper into the technical specifications of the new iPhone 7, the new Apple handheld device will be sporting a different chassis. According to Mac Rumors, the new iPhone 7 may don a waterproof, strengthened frame in lieu of its ubiquitous all-aluminum metal casing.

Another innovation to be expected on the iPhone 7 is its revolutionary "glass-on-glass touch panels" that uses in-cell panels. Using in-cell panels will make it possible for the iPhone 7 to be slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, iPhone 6.

Lastly, Mac Rumors also cites that the iPhone 7 might still stick to the 4.7 - 5.5-inch screen size scheme. Mac Rumors likewise added that it is possible for Apple to also release an iPhone 7 Plus similar to what the latter did in 2014 when they launched iPhone 6 Plus.

And on a final note, iPhone 7 will be "radical" in every sense of the word as Richard Goodwin of Know Your Mobile aptly describes the upcoming Apple handheld. On the design level, the "HOME" button is already gone. It has been replaced with a virtual home button and sports a Touch ID fingerprint sensor under the bigger edge-to-edge display. This sensor is easily spotted as a tiny Apple logo, Goodwin explains.

Another revolutionary twist to the iPhone 7 is its handling of SIM card. According to Goodwin, the new iPhone 7 will no longer require a SIM card to handle and manage phone connectivity. Instead, the device itself will be the one to take care of it.

Other scores of innovation and improvements for the iPhone are the following, to wit: planned A10 processor which is a hexa-core-type, new patent for better antenna and ZERO plastic policy, Force Touch display technology, additional microphone on the unit, better Touch ID, and Gesture Control. Sapphire display is also being considered and if it does will only accommodate a few number of iPhone 7 units, Goodwin ended.

The Apple iPhone 7 is a testimony of the Cupertino-based company to expand its horizons in telecommunications by further revolutionizing an already revolutionary product. By providing iPhone enthusiasts excellent user experience and unrivalled mobile phone capabilities, Apple has once again re-envisioned late Steve Jobs' dream of providing remarkable product and service to consumers one careful step at a time.
