It seems fans have now something to look forward to as the first full trailer of "Star Ocean 5" has already been revealed by Square Enix during this year's Tokyo Game Show event. Adding to the hype, reports say that it's promising to deliver yet another classic role-playing game that every gamer expects.
According to CrunchyRoll, it was during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show event that the trailer for "Star Ocean 5" debuted. It reportedly showcases a mix of cut-scenes and gameplay footages of what people might expect. The Japanese video game developer company Square Enix released the said trailer along with some new screenshots.
Vine Report stated that the company promises that "Star Ocean 5," which is officially titled "Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithfulness," will be worth the wait. The game will reportedly circle around the Leslie Kingdom, which is plagued by ferocious beasts and a hoard of thieves known as Eitron. In the game, the planet enters "The Dark 7 Years" because of the chaos.
It is believed that players can utilize all of the characters in the battle system. They will also reportedly be introduced to long range and short range attacks, as well as new attack levels ranging from light to moderate. On the defensive side, players can reportedly protect themselves using guard and/or guard counters.
Forbes, on the other hand, reported that "Star Ocean 5" will be the kind of classic role-playing game that every fan has been waiting for. The developers are reportedly focused on developing a visually clean and functionally competent RPG, something that dates back to the past games in the series; however, the publication added, fans also expect "Star Ocean 5" to be refreshing.
The game is set between the narrative of "Star Ocean: The Second Story" and "Star Ocean: Till the End of Time." The combination of high-fantasy and sci-fi in a unique premise has what helped defined the whole of "Star Ocean" series since the first game's release in 1996.
"Star Ocean 5" is confirmed for release in Japan on February 25, while North America and Europe has yet to have an official launch date. Nevertheless, fans can be at ease now, knowing that they'll be experiencing one of the best classic role-playing games in history soon.
