Doom multiplayer is scheduled to start its alpha phase this weekend according to the game developer's official announcement on social media account. However, the development-driven tests for the death metal simulator will only be available to eligible players.
According to the game's official Twitter account, the DOOM multiplayer closed alpha is about to kick off at 12:01am ET starting October 23. It is scheduled to run until 11:59 ET of October 25.
This may sound really awesome but the series of test are only accessible by eligible players, said PC Gamer. These qualified gamers are the ones who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order or bought the game before May 26 of last year.
They also reported that the alpha is about to take place on a single map called Heatwave. Its description says "industrial-themed map" in "narrow corridors, walkways and small chambers" connected to an open area.
The mode will be limited to 6v6 Team Deathmatch only and will include six weapons plus two equipment items. Players will be able to change into a Revenant form during the alpha phase. There's also a "power weapon" available in the Gauss Cannon form which is designed to see through walls and is ideal to use in fighting against the Revenants.
Aside from the Power Weapon Gauss Cannon, users can get to try other weapons too, as noted by IGN. Some of the regular weapons and tools that are made available are the Vortex Rifle, the Super Shotgun, the Rocket Launcher, the Static Cannon, the Repeater, Plasma Rifle, Personal Teleporters, and Frag Grenades.
While Wolfenstein on PlayStation 3 gives access to the beta test on PS4 even without a PS Plus subscription, the Xbox 360 version grants access to Xbox One beta and needs a membership on Xbox Live Gold .
DOOM multiplayer closed alpha news have caught the attention of many hard gamers. However, the not eligible players can't try participate in the alpha phase this weekend and they need to wait for the actual game release
