PS4′s latest software update is currently live on the official servers. This PS4 firmware update 3.10 allows the players to follow official PSN accounts as well as include new stickers to Messages.
While the full update details are yet to be revealed, Sony has hinted on some features to be expected on the update via their official social media account.
Taking to Twitter on Oct. 20, the official account of PlayStation Europe said "System software update 3.10 goes live on PS4 today. Follow official accounts, customize your messages with brand new sticker & more!"
Meanwhile, the North American Twitter account also offered additional details by revealing that PS4 v3.10 will enable users to follow verified accounts of any of game studios / devs. They also encouraged the gamers to turn their PS4 on and take the opportunity to update.
Gearnuke said that this is considered the first firmware update by PS4 after the last update that they released on September. Firmware Update 3.00 was said to add some new features while this latest update seems include rather minor ones.
Meanwhile, Drivers Softpedia shared detailed instructions on how to upgrade a PS4 to the latest version 3.10. They advised to download the .PUP file first then make a "PS4/UPDATE" path in a FAT32-formatted USB stick where the firmware will be saved.
Afterwards, the said removable drive need to be connected by going to Settings, System Software Update, then simply follow the on-screen instructions. For re-installing the firmware, they have warned that all of the users and data will be completely erased.
To proceed, simply save the re-installation package with approximately 790mb and prepare a USB drive using the previous instruction mentioned. Lastly, completely turn off the PS4 console and connect the USB storage. Power the game console back on and choose "Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)" option.
This latest software update by PS4 seem to dissatisfy other users. However, there are some players who already tried to follow official PSN accounts and use the new sticker in their messages which made them love the firmware update 3.10 even more.
