HTC Desire EYE is under the plans of the Taiwanese tech titan for the official over-the-air (OTA) release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software according to its Marshmallow expected time of release (ETA) list. When finalized for a Marshmallow slate, Desire EYE might receive the Sense 7.0 user interface.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is under evaluation for official rollout to HTC Desire EYE as an ETA list has been revealed by the mobile manufacturer. Labeled TBA (to be arranged), Desire EYE has greater chances for Android 6.0 as other Desire devices have already been confirmed.
The device is currently being updated with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop software version while Lollipop's first maintenance release has been under testing for the device. Deemed the best selfie phone, Desire EYE unit will be much improved with Sense 7.0 user interface.
Marshmallow will feature better Google Now, battery saver Doze, cut, copy, paste options, app backup and restore, improved Apps Permissions, and several others.
Google Now gives information about nearby restaurant, reviews, map locations, upcoming events and more. Meanwhile, Doze terminates background processes and idle apps. It also wheels apps and features consuming too much power using hardware sensors and software modifications.
When resetting the device, data will not be wiped out through backup. Apps Permissions give options to allow or deny any action to launch an app, etc.
Marshmallow is also coming to One M9, One M9+, One M8, One M8s, One M8 EYE, and One Me, among others.
HTC Desire EYE was released in October 2014 gaining popularity for its impressive front camera, vibrant screen and grand design. It has sturdy plastic panels in two tones with curvaceous edges.
It rocks a 5.2-inch display and a waterproof capacity that can stand for half an hour in 3 feet deep.
Desire EYE also sports a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad core processor, 16 GB of internal storage expandable to 128 GB. Its rear camera has 13 MP resolution and is available at $540.
