Ubisoft has hinted that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege will feature something called "Rainbow Credits" along with some free maps. Despite of being a multiplayer game, it also offers several single-player missions which are called Situations
Attack Of The Fanboy shared Joe Vargas' interview with Scott Mitchell who is Rainbow Six Siege's Animation Director. Mitchell just confirmed the inclusion of "Rainbow Credits" that can be used by players to unlock things. When Angry Joe asked him what are these credits for, the PR person simply said that they we still can't talk about it now and all he revealed is that it a currency within the game that can be used to unlock more stuff.
It may sound like some form of microtransaction, but Mitchell did not made any confirmation about it. In the interview, Mitchell also confirmed that the game will be released with 11 maps. He assured that some of the maps are bigger than the once present in recent beta experienced by players a few weeks ago.
Talking about future maps, they will be considered as free DLC. Ubisoft have planned this so that the community will not split. However, Mitchell did not say what's included in the Season Pass.
Rainbow Six Siege may be considered primarily a multiplayer type of game, but it also features single-player missions which are called Situations, said IGN. These Situations can be played alone according to the gamer's pace. It's a campaign for those who prefer to hone their skills in their own time.
PC Advisor reported that Ubisoft's original prediction for the release of Rainbow Six Siege was on October 13 which is close the release of Assassins Creed: Syndicate, but the game will be for sale on December 1.
Some players think that the new maps and Rainbow Credits are among the best features of the game. However, single-player mode of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is where the lone wolf gamers prefer to stay.
