Production is underway for Resident Evil:The Final Chapter in Cape Town, South Africa, and South Korean actor Lee Joon Gi was recently confirmed to join the cast. New Updates on Milla Jovovich's stunt double, Olivia Jackson, suggest that she is now on her way to recovery after enduring critical injuries while filming on set.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Lee Joon Gi's agency, Namoo Actors confirmed that the 33-year old actor will indeed appear in the film after Milla Jovovich posted on Instagram, a photo of her and Lee while filming on set. Lee is expected to play as Umbrella Corporation's Commander Lee.
Meanwhile, according to Deadline, Olivia Jackson is now out medically induced of coma, and is on her way to recovery. Jackson also recently detailed her injuries on Facebook.
"2 weeks in a coma, brain bleed, brain swelling, severed main artery in the neck, crushed & degloved face, several broken ribs, paralyzed arm, shattered scapula, broken clavicle, broken humerus, broken radius & ulna, with an open wound and a 7.5 piece of bone missing, amputated thumb, torn fingers, 5 nerves torn out of the spinal cord.... not my funnest day on set", Jackson wrote.
Jackson endured her injuries which she sustained after filming a chase scene on the set. Jackson was riding a motorcycle when she accidentally crashed on a camera equipment. She was immediately rushed to the hospital due to her fatal injuries. After the incident, Jovovich posted on her Facebook page asking for prayers for Jackson's recovery.
Moreover, as reported by Collider, filming is currently in full swing for Resident Evil:The Final Chapter, and the cast have been more than generous in sharing photos from the set in their Instagram pages. Aside from Jovovich, Resident Evil The Final Chapter will also see the return of Ali Larter as Claire Redfield along with her character's brother, Chris Redfield, who will be played by Wentworth Miller.
The cast also includes newbies Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, William Levy, Eoin Macken, and Rola. Resident Evil:The Final Chapter is written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. It is expected to hit theaters on January 27, 2017.
