Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge models are officially reported to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software in the first quarter of 2016. A total of 11 models will receive the upgrade alongside its improvements and key feature additions.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones is now in development stage. Google and Samsung are now on the verge of fitting the Marshmallow software and Samsung's own mobile system into a single firmware.
The testing phase will follow if development is done successfully. Official over-the-air release will come next if testing's evaluation of performance is considered good and sound.
Meanwhile, among the 11 models of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, a total of 1065 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware updates have been recorded as of this writing.
The official list of Marshmallow software recipients disclosed the Android 6.0 will hit the devices in January 2016.

One of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow's notable features is the improved Google Now. Now on Tap is its biggest feature. It is the extension of Google Now, a learning digital assistant, giving it the power to read information on screen. By holding the home button, Now on Tap will pop up, scan device screen and search, suggest, and recommend new information from Google, apps and videos based on what the screen has. It recognizes a wide array of information like reviews, movies, TV shows, places, phone numbers, books, parking lot, restaurants, landmarks, contacts and so many others.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is also confirmed rolling out to Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5, among others.
