When talking about beta tests, "Star Wars: Battlefront" is without doubt an epitome. The game reportedly opened its doors to 9.5 million gamers on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, breaking EA's previous record of hosting beta tests. The game snatched the largest beta test the company has held ever since, accumulatinga playing time of 1.6 billion minutes.
According to VG247, there were approximately 9.5 million people who tried the "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta. The figure is quite big that it's reportedly difficult to find numbers to compare it to. Despite "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" being believed to be the biggest ever on PlayStation 4, Activision didn't reveal the number of players who engaged beyond the game. Destiny, on the other hand, only reportedly pulled 4.6 million participants during its 2014 beta.
Cinema Blend mentioned about how "Star Wars: Battlefront" easily became as one of the biggest betas that took place in the world of gaming. The beta was so huge that it broke EA's previous history of beta test hosting, thus deemed the largest one that the American video game company has ever held.
Reports have it that the data was unveiled through an infographic and reveals that roughly 10 million players acrotestess PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One downloaded the beta, so as to participate in the test. The beta was over the course of October 8th weekend, which then was extended into the middle of the week, ending on October 14th.
PC Mag Asia, on the other hand, noted that Electronic Arts even broke more statistics. Those 9.5 million people playing "Star Wars: Battlefront" reportedly contributed around 1.6 billion minutes or so of overall playing time. The publication noted that the accumulated time is equivalent to watching "Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace" 11,764,705 times or "Star Wars Trilogy" 4.2 million times.
Of 9.5 million players, there's no doubt that "Star Wars: Battlefront" could just be the largest beta testing the world has ever witnessed. Besides, a 1.6 billion playing time is quite a number to reckon.
"Star Wars: Battlefront" will be launched on November 17 and November 19 in North America and Europe respectively.
