The Firefly spread its fiery wings in the sixth episode of "Gotham" Season 2 as Bridgit Pike finally took charge of her life away from her brothers with the help of Selina Kyle. Both girls were in hiding after Selina rescued Bridgit at the hands of the police in the fifth episode.
Bridgit wanted to get away from her brothers' abuses so she and Selina decided to skip town. The team robbed an underground sex club to get enough money but even before they can start their journey, the Pikes Brothers caught them and brought Bridgit home.
According to JoBlo, Bridgit finally snapped, killed her brothers and vowed to Selina to kill all the bullies and perverts of Gotham. James Gordon quickly recognized Selina on camera. Gordon and Harvey Bullock attempted to stop Bridgit from doing more damage. Although she put down her weapon peacefully, a leak in her suit put her up on flames.Gordon went back to his apartment only to face an angry Selina Kyle who vowed never to talk to Gordon again. Before she was gone, she told him that Penguin hired the Pike Brothers to set the fires.
Speaking of the Penguin, he sent Butch to be his undercover as a new servant to Theo Galavan. But Theo was not someone to mess with as he can see right through him. Theo turned the tables around Penguin by giving him false information.
After allegedly escaping Tabitha's torture, Butch went back to Penguin and told him the location of his mother, Gertrude. The role of Butch became a bit confusing. According to Entertainment Weekly, the questions lie in if Butch is still "brainwashed" by Penguin as Tabitha and Theo put it? Or is he working for the Galavan siblings now?
In another story, Edward Nygma embraced total darkness when he accidentally killed his girlfriend Kristen Kringle. After a sweet and passionate night at his apartment, Edward confessed to Kristen that he killed his ex-boyfriend for her. Kristen was so angry she called Edward a psycho and a murderer which made Edward all the more demented. He grabbed her and covered her mouth while trying hard to tell her that he loved her and ultimately strangled her.
According to Carter Matt, the scene on Edward Nygma was emotional, dangerous, and set the stage precisely for what could bring him to become the Riddler.
The sixth episode of "Gotham" ended with Bridgit, who was still alive, being wheeled in by two men. She was brought to Indian Hill to be tested as her suit melded with her skin making her fireproof. Indian Hill was introduced as a creepy laboratory in the first season previously owned by Falcone and now with Wayne Enterprises.
With Bridgit Pike alive to be tested in Indian Hill, it would seem that the character may go back to being a villain. It is also possible that Indian Hill, known for its creepiness and mad scientists, will give rise to other famous villains Gotham is known for.
Catch "Gotham" every Monday night at 8pm on FOX.
