'Total War: Warhammer' Update: Sega Confirms April 2016 Release Date; First DLC Includes Chaos Warriors

By

Looks like fans will be pleased knowing that game studio Sega has officially announced "Total War: Warhammer's" release on April 28, 2016. In addition, the said installment of the epic trilogy will include Chaos Warriors on its first batch of downloadable content.

According to Realty Today, the Creative Assembly and Sega confirmed the release date for "Total War: Warhammer" after showing a demo during the July Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The detail of the turn-based strategy, real-time tactics video game is said to be unveiled in January and then hinted about in March.

The "Total War: Warhammer" development is reportedly done with the collaboration of "Warhammer" license-holder Games. It is worth noting that the studio is famous for games such as "Halo Wars 2," "Total War: Attila" and "Alien: Isolation."

For gamers who are aware, the "Total War" franchise has always revolved around historical places in the past - particularly a time when humankind used shields and swords in battling wars. However, as for the title of the forthcoming game, Yibada reported that it is based on the popular "Warhammer" franchise, which is all about Humans against Orcs, Dwarfs and Vampire Counts. And although both technology and magic play a huge role in "Total War: Warhammer," the basic gameplay is believed to be somehow the similar to regular "Total War" games; however, a learning curve is to be expected, as there are different gameplay elements.

Sega also confirmed that the game will include monstrous creatures, bloodthirsty units, unique new mounts, all-new narrative-driven quest journey for each Legendary Lord, and cursed magic as well as armory of twisted items.

PC Gamer, on the other hand, reported that aside from the four playable core races (Orks, Dwarfs, Empire, and Undead), "Total War: Warhammer" will showcase the Chaos Warriors and will be made available in the game's first "race pack" DLC release. If the game is to be pre-ordered, the said DLC will be included for free on day one, giving access to three new playable Legendary Lords - each with their own quest-lines.

In the meantime, gamers will have to stay still, as "Total War: Warhammer" will not be released until April 28, 2016. And by the time the calendar reaches that date, players will surely hit the download button for the Chaos Warrios DLC pack.
