Xiaomi has announced a new Segway, its Ninebot Mini that will arrive in China on November 3. Nonetheless, it is stated that this new scooter from Xiaomi appears more like an overboard than a Segway, and it arrives with a real inexpensive price.
BGR reports that Xiaomi Ninebot Mini is a new device comes from Ninebot, the company that purchased Segway and has also had a great deal of investment cash from Xiaomi. It is said that this scooter that is being priced at $315 looks more similar to a hoverboard rather than a Segway, this device is also highly portable.
When it comes to its performance, the site added that Segway offers a range of about 22km (almost 14 miles) per charge, with a top speed of 16km/h (10mph). The Xiaomi Ninbot Mini weighs 12.8kg (around 28 pounds) and it can simply be hidden away in the trunk of a car. A user can charge this mini Segway in four hours.
According to Digital trends, the new Xiaomi Ninebot mini is actually smaller than the original Segway. With this latest Ninebot mini, the handle simply touches the knee, and Ninebot claims that a user will not have a difficult time in keeping balance on this new scooter.
It is also reported that on the front of Xiaomi Ninebot Mini, an LED light makes the battery life of the device revealed, while illuminating the path ahead. Users are permitted to control traffic, install firmware as well as monitoring speed via a smartphone app, developed by Ninebot.
The new Xiaomi's Ninebot Mini is built by "aerospace-grade magnesium alloy. " Moreover, another interesting feature offered by the Ninebot Mini is that it can be controlled via smartphone, Latin Post wrote.
As for the instruction on how to use the Xiaomi Ninebot Mini, it is said that the riders only need to direct the e-scooter with their legs since the device automatically reacts to body movements. Other information from BGR says that Xiaomi will launch the Ninebot Mini this coming November 3 in China. However, release dates for international markets are not available so far. On Xiaomi's French website, it is stated that interested buyers are able to register to be "informed on the availability" with no spreading other information.
The Xiaomi's Ninebot Mini bears a price tag at 1,999 Yuan or around $314 US dollars. This price is greatly cheaper than the opponent's offering since it will only be priced quarter of the Segway's average cost.
