Gamers have surely seen a lot games that followed the footsteps of "Left 4 Dead." Adding to that is "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide." The difference, however, is that the latter consists of rat men instead of zombies. Nevertheless, if fans decide to pre-order the game, they will also have the chance to try the prelaunch beta.
According to Tech Times, a new addition to the list of games following the path of "Left 4 Dead" is "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide," but only in a positive note. The epic, co-operative action combat adventure game is reportedly capable of filling the void that gamers had with "Left 4 Dead," only with the fact that they'll be fighting hoards of eerie rat men instead of zombies. These rat men are called Skaven, who are there to attack in huge swarms and are easily dispatched. Apart from that, there's the elite Skaven, who are said to possess special abilities that are designed to ruin a squad of four.
Eurogamer, on the other hand, noted that it's been six years since Valve released "Left 4 Dead;" hence it's safe to say that there's a definite need to be filled. Nonetheless, "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide" is essentially a cover version, right down to the enemies that parallels exactly onto the "special infected" from Valve's series.
As for the looting system, "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide" excels in many levels. There's quite a variety to find, while each item reportedly has a traditional quality label attached to it. Unfortunately, as what reports say, armor sets are yet to be included in the game. Nevertheless, players will have slots for headgear, one ranged and melee weapon, and three slots for trinkets.
Meanwhile, VentureBeat reported that the game can be pre-ordered and doing so will secure a ticket to try out the prelaunch beta, which has since been live on October 16. The developer Fatshare is believed to have noted that the current playable version is still a beta and does not reflect the forthcoming launch version.
Whether or not gamers will pre-order "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide," they surely will experience the nostalgia that is "Left 4 Dead." This is most especially if what they're after is an intense first-person survival action game.
