‘Star Ocean 5’ Extended Trailer Reveals Gamestory and Battle System

Square Enix and tri-Ace released the first long trailer of its role playing game, Star Ocean 5 at the Tokyo Game Show 2015. The lengthy trailer showed some scenes from the story and a preview of the game's battle system.

This epic science fiction RPG is the fifth installment of the Star Ocean series, entitled Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness. Brief trailers and promotional teasers were released earlier which shows a few details regarding the game. Recently, Square Enix released an extended version of the trailer which shows much of the cut scenes and gameplay footage as reported by Crunchyroll.

The sci-fi RPG shall have its release for PS3 and PS4 in Japan by February 25. Its release in Europe and North America for PS4 is also in 2016, but with no tentative date given. Impressive characters are designed by Akiman. Anime News Network released the cast of game characters along with respective voice talents in their site. This includes Aya Endo as Fiore Burnelli, Nao Toyama as Miki Sauvester, Kaito Ishikawa as Fidel Camuze, Yuichi Nakamura as Victor Orkvil, and Yui Ogura as Lilia.

The story is set between Star Ocean: The Second Story and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, in the planet Faykreed which is 6,000 lightyears away from Earth. According to Forbes, tri-Ace focused more on developing the game's visuals. The developers wanted the game to be a competent RPG which harks back to older games while remaining fresh. Through the gameplay, one may be able to switch between various characters while utilizing their respective skills. The developers have also applied serious streamlining and optimization in real time action battle system.

Accordingly, the game's release coincides with of the Star Ocean series. With its extended trailer showing major game details such as the game's story scenes and battle system, players are to wait for its release until February 25 in Japan for PS3 and PS4. Western release for PS4 lies also sometime in 2016.
