"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 has found the actors who will play Queen Elinor and King Fergus, the parents of Merida as per multiple reports. ABC has also released a sneak peek for the sixth episode of the show.
According to Entertainment Weekly, "Once Upon A Time" casted Caroline Mohan and "Sons of Anarchy" alum Glenn Keogh to play the above-mentioned roles. The parents of Merida are to be introduced during the two-hour episode of the show, which will air on November 15.
The character of Merida was derived from the 2012 Pixar film "Brave." Billy Connolly voiced King Fergus while Emma Thompson voiced Queen Elinor, TV Line shared. Merida was first introduced during the "Once Upon A Time" season 5 premiere where her heart was almost crushed by Emma Swan as she has turned into the Dark One.
Merida's character was again seen on this season's fourth and fifith episode wherein she had an encounter with Lancelot and has been asked by the Dark Swan to train Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold in order for him to be as brave as her.
Meanwhile, ABC shared a sneak peek for "Once Upon A Time" season 5 episode 6 wherein David and Hook were helped by Merlin as they battle the guards of King Arthur in an attempt to save Lancelot. The episode is entitled "The Bear and the Bow" and Merida has new hope for her to save her brothers and return to their kingdom. The Dark Swan also tells Merida to kill Belle as she really wants Rumpelstiltskin to man up and get the Excalibur for her.
The Storybrooke gang, David, Mary Margaret, and Regina, discovered a spell that will help one of Merlin's chosen ones to communicate with him. However, King Arthur was not able to reach the sorcerer so it is possible that he had been lying all along about what Merlin told him.
"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 will see the introduction of Merida's parents and where Merlin is when the characters were brought back to Storybrooke as he was freed when they were still in Camelot. The ABC show airs Sundays at 8 P.M.
