T-Mobile units of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are expected to get the final update of Android Lollipop this month before heading to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade early in 2016. While the carrier puts Galaxy Note 4 under manufacturer development stage, T-Mobile is reported preparing to roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version in November.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphones on T-Mobile are said bound for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update this month as Android Marshmallow was already confirmed coming to the device in the first quarter of 2016. The final Lollipop update will bring in improvements in user interface as well as security patches.

T-Mobile already posted on its support page that Galaxy Note 4 is certain to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software upgrade next year. Previous reports pointed out that January might be the date.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphones on T-Mobile have build number SM-N910T, all of which are still running on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop version. Sprint is the only major mobile carrier in the US to release Android 5.1.1 to Galaxy Note 4 while Verizon, US Cellular and AT&T have yet to release the same update.

As the final software version, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will bring in users to a whole new level of Lollipop experience. It comes with improvements in easier device switch and better syncing options, among others.

Shifting from KitKat to Lollipop can be made easy if device is capable with near field communication (NFC). With Lollipop, the software will set up device with installed apps, wallpaper, screen layout, Wi-Fi connection preferences, locations and other preconceived settings. Without NFC, it can be laborious to manually restore previous settings to a new device.

Syncing devices like TV, watches, car, tablet, phone, etc. can now be possible. What's the use of this feature? Users are given the opportunity to browse, listen and watch on one device and continue on another where the user left off. Do this using a Google account which can access Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, YouTube etc. for complete and comprehensive access to apps, photos, music, documents, etc.
