Although it was Gran Turismo Sports and not Gran Turismo 7 that Sony announced during the Paris Games Week, speculations surfaced that GT 7 might come with advanced gameplay features such as Virtual Reality suppirt, recent reports circulated.
"We're not announcing Gran Turismo 7 at this stage," Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's president and CEO Jim Ryan told Eurogamer. During the Paris Games Week when Sony announced that Gran Turismo Sport is not Gran Turismo 7. The details are scarce about GT Sport but Ryan assured that it is not a prologue version of the seventh series of Gran Turismo.
"Fair to say [series director Kazunori Yamauchi] has been making these games for some considerable time now. I think it's reasonable to assume that something else might come down the road. Is it a Prologue? No, I think it'll be more than that. The old days, when the games were offline, the experience was defined by what's on the disc. You had a distinction between a Prologue and a full GT, it was very stark. When the game becomes more of an online connected experience, that distinction blurs. This will be much more than a Prologue type experience," explains Ryan through VG 247.
Despite the announcement, GT 7 has been rumored to be very advanced game and mends the lapses of the previous installment, stated Master Herald. The speculations involve the possible gameplay features to recover the expectation in the series.
According to the site, GT 7 possibly will turn up with support for virtual reality googles. This probable development will make the Playstation 4 a more exciting platform for the game.
Master Herald opined that the VR support will see a recovery in the popularity of GT games. Racing game like Gran Turismo 7 which is going to be a serious racing simulator is a perfect idea for virtual reality.
GT Sports is slated to be released in 2016 while fans of Gran Turismo 7 will have to wait for further developments.
