Super Smash Bros. 4 fans are eager to find out who will be the game's next DLC characters following the closing date of fan's votes for Nintendo's special promo last month. At the time being, Nintendo has not given out the official results of the winners for the balloting but rumors have been rife online of several heroes from 3rd party games who will make it to the growing list of fighters featured in this massively popular brawler title.
To date, Super Smash Bros. 4 carries an incredible roster of more than 50 characters coming from myriad of Nintendo video games and other game makers. Expectedly, this number will increase with the addition of not one but 3 new fighters if the recently leaked secret codes data mined from the latest patch are proven to be accurate.
According to earlier reports, the list of top fan voted characters include King K. Rool and Dixie Kong from Donkey Kong Country, Isaac from Golden Sun, Ridley from Metroid, and Inklings from Splatoon. Nintendo has also received a green light from Microsoft to feature Banjo-Kazooie to be added as one of its DLC characters.
Snake from Metal Gear Solid game and Star Fox's Wolf are also popular contenders for Super Smash Bros. 4 next DLC characters but have already appeared in the game's brawl. Shantae Half-Genie Hero, on the other hand, was previously reported to have topped the unofficial ballot results conducted by fans while other gamers even demaded for pop star Britney Spears.
Christian Today reports, however, that game developer Yacht Games confirmed amidst widespread speculations that Shovel Knight will not be part of the Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC just as soon. Although, the game creator has not totally shot down the possibility that Shovel Knight will be added to the roster in the near future.
