Samsung Galaxy Note Edge smartphones under mobile carrier AT&T are set to undergo the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade tests before 2015 comes to an end since official release is pegged in the first quarter of 2016. Accordingly, Marshmallow tests will come in November.
AT&T has supported its Samsung Galaxy Note Edge devices for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is reported proceeding to test the new build beginning November. In the testing stage also certification will be conducted to make sure best quality of Marshmallow software for optimum experience.
Samsung has confirmed since early in October that Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is due to officially release in the first quarter next year, while there have already been reports in September it would come in January.
Galaxy Note Edge units on AT&T have build number SM-N915A. They are currently updated with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop's software version. Meanwhile, the final Lollipop update has not been confirmed until now if coming to the device before Marshmallow hits.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is deemed the biggest and most polished Android software Google dev has made in history. It brings in new key features like Doze and improvements in Google Now, among others.
The latest version of Google Now comes with Now on Tap, a standout addition making this feature most improved and most prominent amid the many. The new version of the predictive assistant works by inching its way to apps to gather related information to display onscreen that users or owners might want to know or search about.
It displays any information under the sun including reviews (of movies, album, etc.), parking lots, malls, parks, restaurants, hotels, celebrity news, current and upcoming events, latest apps, location, and the list goes on.
To use Google Now, press and hold the home button while an app is being launched until it shows up. Wait for it to finish reading device screen until it suggests or recommends information.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software also brings in an improved apps permissions, support for fingerprint scanner and Android Pay, and so many others.
